This Apple Cinnamon Crumble Cake is a foolproof solution to colder days and darker evenings. Whether you’re a star baker or just getting into baking for the first time, this cake is a dream. This is such a cosy bake, and will fill your home with all those fabulous smells that are synonymous with this time of year!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cake itself comes together in one bowl, with no need for an electric mixer. The batter folds with ease and then gets a generous sprinkle of a crumble\/streusel topping. This all goes in to bake and comes out as a gorgeously moist apple cake, with a slightly crisp, cinnamon topping. Cosy and comforting, without much effort! I recommend drizzling over a little milk glaze at the end, just before serving. This is optional, but adds the perfect sweetness to round off the cake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I use an 8\u2033 cake tin for this Apple Cinnamon Crumble Cake (and a loose bottom base never hurts \u2013 I use these tins<\/a>). If you want to make it to serve a larger number, simply double it and make a tiered cake!   • 2<\/span> <\/span> <\/span> Medium Eggs<\/span><\/li>
  • 160<\/span> g<\/span> <\/span> <\/span> Granulated Sugar<\/span><\/li>

    For the Crumble Topping<\/h4>
    • 15<\/span> g<\/span> <\/span> <\/span> Oats<\/span><\/li>
    • 15<\/span> g<\/span> <\/span> <\/span> Butter<\/span><\/li>
    • 15<\/span> g<\/span> <\/span> <\/span> Plain Flour<\/span><\/li>
    • 50<\/span> g<\/span> <\/span> <\/span> Light Brown Sugar<\/span><\/li>
    • 2<\/span> tsp<\/span> <\/span> <\/span> Cinnamon<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/div>

      For the Glaze (Optional)<\/h4>
      • 4<\/span> tbsp<\/span> <\/span> <\/span> Icing Sugar<\/span><\/li>
      • 2<\/span> tbsp<\/span> <\/span> <\/span> Milk<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div>\n\t

        Instructions<\/h3>
        • Preheat the oven to 200C\/180C Fan\/Gas 6. Lightly grease a 9 inch round cake tin.<\/span><\/div><\/li>
        • Peel and dice the two apples to about 1cm dice. <\/span><\/div><\/li>
        • In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, apple sauce, milk and eggs with a whisk until thoroughly mixed. Add in the sugar and mix again.<\/span><\/div><\/li>
        • Add the flour, baking powder, baking soda and diced apples. Fold this together to form a cake batter. Pour this into the tin.<\/span><\/div><\/li>
        • Make the crumble topping by combining all ingredients in a small bowl with a fork. Sprinkle the sand-like mixture over the cake. Bake for approx 35 minutes, until a skewer inserted comes out clean.<\/span><\/div><\/li>
        • Let cool on a wire rack before making the glaze. Do this by combining the icing sugar and milk in a small bowl. Drizzle over the cake just before serving!<\/span><\/div><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div>\n\t
