Cinnamon French Toast Sticks

Cinnamon French Toast Sticks

These are the ultimate brunch recipe that takes no time at all! This is a great way to use up stale bread. Simply dip the sticks of bread into an egg and milk mixture, fry, then coat in cinnamon sugar. Definitely best served warm, these are so nostalgic and way better than store bought!

Ingredients

  • 4 Slices Brioche Bread Stale preferable (any bread will work)
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 60 ml Whole Milk
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 75 g Granulated Sugar

Instructions

  • Slice the crusts off your bread and cut into thick sticks.
  • In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, milk and vanilla until totally combined.
  • Heat a frying pan over medium heat and brush with a little butter.
  • Dip 3-4 sticks of bread into the milk/egg mixture and place in the frying pan. Fry about a minute per side, until golden and crisp before flipping.
  • Remove and set aside while you dip and fry the remaining bread sticks (don't dip all the sticks into the mixture until you are ready to fry them - they will go soggy if they sit too long in the mixture).
  • Combine the sugar and cinnamon, and dip each French toast stick into the mixture before serving! Serve warm with maple syrup.
